Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) has been a part of Angela’s life since childhood, when her father’s kidneys failed and in-home dialysis became integral to her family’s daily routine. She has also been diagnosed with PKD. The Turek Aubert Memorial Scholarship Fund gives Angie an opportunity to help others with PKD better their lives through her greatest passion: education.
Angela has spent her career in a variety of educational positions and organizations, including being a Teach for America corps member, a teacher on the West side of Chicago, and a national director of Kaplan Test Prep’s tutoring programs.
Angie currently teaches high school English in the Denver Metro area. Angela holds a BA in English from Boston University and is pursuing an MA in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado-Denver.
